Whether you get down on your hands and knees to wash the floor, hula hoop, wash the windows, wash your car, lift weights, dance, or walk after dinner, any of the activities will raise your heart rate, increase stamina, and force you to utilize muscles that need to be dusted off and engaged.

Create a checklist or refer to the Forget Dieting! Journal. Before you go to bed, make sure that you have accomplished your goals for the day. Those should include protecting your pancreas, listening to your body, moving, reducing stress, and Data-Driven Fueling.

I cannot emphasize enough the need to love and care for yourself. Put yourself in your top five. Remember, your mind, body, and soul are in a partnership, working in unison to make your time on this planet pleasant. By engaging in some activity on a daily basis, you add to the positive.

You have the inner knowledge; you know what to do. It’s actually harder not to do it because that ten- to fifteen-minute walk will be spent elsewhere, like waiting in line at your local pharmacy for medication for a disease whose cause is rooted in poor food choices and inactivity. It’s up to you. But I have faith in you. I know you can change. I know you can move, and I know your new DDF lifestyle will inspire others. You will become a beacon of light.
